Friends of the Wild Spaces Fund can play an active role in enhancing the environmental value of our
reserves. Why not volunteer for one of our Wild Spaces Fund projects. You can get involved in projects
ranging from an afternoon, a weekend or a week working outdoors through to a regular commitment to an
important activity. You can meet friends, keep healthy at the same time – and enjoy the land, sea, shore
and wildlife at the same time.
- Hands-on conservation: You could find yourself making paths and fences, building hides,
clearing vegetation or creating ponds. - Reserve watch: Get involved in monitoring birds, mammals, insects or plants with one of our
wildlife surveys. - Adopt-a-reserve: Take a long term interest in the enhancement and development of a particular
reserve. - Breeding bird survey: Make a contribution mapping the population of breeding birds as an input to
future habitat conservation work. - Shore clean: Join other volunteers on one of our litter clear up days to make our coasts cleaner
and less polluted places. - Adopt-a-bird: Sponsor the conservation of a particular bird species to improve its habitat and
nesting success. - Fund raising: Support our vital work with a sponsored activity or fund raising event.
You’ll be able to enjoy these beautiful places. But your support will
also help the Wild Spaces Fund to preserve and improve them, and assist
us to preserve more and more land with each passing year.
To get involved, send us an email of the types of things you’d like
to help with and any interests or skills you have that might be relevant.
If you have any particular reserves that you’d like to work on let us
know.
Email now. We would love to hear from
you!
